Online Conform & QC

Here is how this works in practice. Online conform and QC for Hungarian productions runs through the finishing suites at Mafilm, Pannonia Post, and Origo Post, where DaVinci Resolve Studio, Baselight. Plus Avid Symphony are used to rebuild edited timelines from camera-first ProRes 4444 XQ and DNxHR HQX masters. We set up EDL, AAF, and XML conform from the editor's Avid Media Composer sessions. The standard cutting sites at MTVA, RTL Klub, and TV2 telenovela pipelines. Through to a fully integrated online master with VFX shots from Origo Post and Umedia Budapest, graphics from the title houses.

Here is the short of it. Plus re-recorded audio stems from Mafilm Audio and Pannonia Hangstúdió laid back in sync. Every shot is checked frame-by-frame against the locked offline, every VFX handle is verified, every dissolve and speed-ramp is rebuilt at full resolution. Plus the conform notes are tracked in a per-shot log so the colourist, online editor, and audio team are all working from the same change list.

Here is the breakdown. QC then runs against the spec of the receiving carrier. Netflix Hungary tech-check (IMF JPEG2000, Dolby Vision XML, IMSC1 captions), MTVA / RTL Klub / TV2 / ATV broadcast spec under NMHH rules (ProRes 4444 XQ master, R128 audio loudness, OP-47 / OP-59 teletext). Plus the festival circuit's parallel QC paths for TIFF, Hungarian Film Week, KAFF Kecskemét, Berlinale, and Cannes. We run autoQC through Telestream Vidchecker, Interra Baton, and Venera Pulsar to catch black frames, freeze frames, audio dropouts, gamma errors, and PSE photosensitive epilepsy flashes.

Here is what that looks like on the ground. We run Dolby Vision Professional Tools QC on the HDR layer. And we schedule manual eyes-on review for cadence, edge anti-aliasing, and subtitle conform. Bilingual EN/HU and EN/DE subtitle tracks are conformed in IMSC1, SRT. Plus TimeText ITT, with German-language deliverables targeting the ORF Austria and cross-border RTL pipelines. Plus full QC reports are issued with frame-accurate timecodes so any flagged issue is resolved before the master leaves the site.
