landmark
Europe's third-largest parliament building. Neo-Gothic spires, riverside dome, and one of the most filmed exteriors in Central Europe. Featured in countless international productions.
UNESCO-listed hilltop palace complex with cobblestone streets, courtyards, and Royal Palace facades. Doubles convincingly for Vienna, Prague, and 19th-century European capitals.
The iconic 19th-century suspension bridge with Parliament views. Riverside quays accommodate large crews; bridge closures possible for major shoots.
Hungary's largest film studio complex with 8 sound stages, water tank, and backlots. Home to Blade Runner 2049, Dune, and Foundation. Full production infrastructure on site.
Etyek-based studio complex 30km west of Budapest. Six sound stages including the largest in Europe (6,000m²), plus backlot streets dressed for medieval, Victorian, and modern looks.
UNESCO-listed grand boulevard with Opera House, embassies, and the Millennium Monument terminus at Heroes' Square. Common Paris, Vienna, and Berlin double.
Atmospheric prewar streets, Dohány Synagogue, ruin bars, and courtyard tenements. Frequent stand-in for 1930s-40s European cities and contemporary edgy urban looks.
Whimsical neo-Romanesque turrets and terraces with the most iconic Pest skyline view. Photogenic at any hour but heavily touristed midday.
Buda Castle, Fisherman's Bastion, and Matthias Church with panoramic Danube views. Popular for period and prestige productions.
Váci utca, Andrássy Avenue, and the Opera district with elegant 19th-century architecture and vibrant street scenes.
Parliament views, Chain Bridge, Liberty Bridge, and scenic riverfront promenades on both Buda and Pest sides.

Scene 04 — Logistics
Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport (BUD) — 25km / 30-50 min
metro
4 lines covering central Budapest. M1 (yellow line) is UNESCO-listed and the oldest in continental Europe. Runs 4:30am-11:30pm.
Crew tip: BKK authorization required for filming on platforms or trains (3+ weeks lead time). M1 is photogenic for period scenes.
tram
Iconic yellow trams along the Danube embankment (lines 2 and 4/6). Tram 2 is regularly cited as one of the world's most scenic urban transit lines.
Crew tip: Line 2 frequently rented for productions. Off-peak shoots cause less disruption.
taxi
Regulated yellow taxis with fixed start fee. Bolt and Főtaxi are the most reliable apps for crew movement.
Crew tip: Order vans via Főtaxi for equipment. English-speaking drivers common in tourist zones.
Paid zones cover most of central Pest (Districts V-IX). Free street parking exists in outer districts but is competitive.
NFI Location Office coordinates production vehicle permits. Korda and Origo provide on-site parking; central shoots typically use peripheral base camps.
Central Budapest is compact — Castle District to Heroes' Square takes 20 min by metro. Korda Studios is 30 min west by car; Origo Studios is 20 min from city center. Rush hour (7-9am, 4-6pm) significantly impacts vehicle movement on Danube bridges.
