That heritage runs back through István Szabó's Mephisto (1981, Best Foreign Language Oscar) and Sunshine (1999).

Here is what that looks like on the ground. Plus continues today with the same period stock supplying The Alienist, Borgia, The Last Czars (Netflix), Strike Back, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, and the Witcher Netflix S3 stages. Stages route through Korda Studios Etyek (Stage 6 at 6,000m² is the largest in Europe), Origo Studios Budapest (eight stages, Dune Part Two and Black Widow stages), and Stern Studios. Financing stacks through NFI's 30 percent cash rebate (Europe's highest, no annual cap), bilateral co-production treaties (HU-FR, HU-DE, HU-AT, HU-IT, HU-CA, HU-IL, HU-CN), and TV networks pre-buys. Crews are bilingual EN/HU and EN/DE as standard, with bilingual line producers handling the rebate filings and NAV ATA carnet workflows.
