Here is how this works in practice. Hungarian aerial work runs under two regulatory authorities working in tandem. NMHH (Nemzeti Média- és Hírközlési Hatóság) issues commercial drone-operator permits and EASA-aligned remote-pilot certificates. Plus HungaroControl sets up the airspace itself through Liszt Ferenc Airport approach corridors and the broader Budapest controlled-airspace network.

Here is the short of it. The licensed pilot roster flows from Pannonia Cine Service. The Magyar Drone Pilots Association, the same crews that have flown second-unit aerial on Dune Part Two, Blade Runner 2049, Witcher Netflix Season 3, Black Widow, Atomic Blonde, Inferno, Hellboy 2019 and The Martian out of Korda Studios Etyek and Origo Studios Budapest.

Here is the breakdown. The standard cinema rig is DJI Inspire 3 with the Zenmuse X9-8K Air gimbal and full ProRes RAW capture, DJI Inspire 2 with the X7 carrying CinemaDNG and ProRes for productions standardising on the older codec, DJI Mavic 3 Cine for compact run-and-gun coverage with a built-in Apple ProRes pipeline. Plus DJI Matrice 350 RTK for heavy-lift assignments carrying RED Komodo X, ARRI Alexa Mini LF or Sony Venice 2 Extension System on Freefly Movi gimbals.

Here is what that looks like on the ground. Permit shepherding is where the difference between a clean shoot and a stalled call sheet shows. Buda Castle UNESCO and Andrássy Avenue UNESCO sit inside set up restricted-airspace zones that need advance NMHH and HungaroControl coordination plus property-owner authorisation through Várkapitányság (Castle Quarter management) and the District VI city. Pest Parliament restricts overflight entirely. Any nearby work needs case-by-case approval from the Országház security service.

Here is how the picture comes together. Outside the city, Hortobágy puszta UNESCO (the Great Plain), Aggtelek Karst caves UNESCO (cross-border with Slovakia), Bükk National Park and Lake Balaton Tihany UNESCO each carry their own park-authority sign-off layers that the pilot teams handle in parallel with the NMHH paperwork. Winter Dec-Feb -10°C cold-weather drone protocols include lithium-polymer battery thermal blankets, pre-flight motor warm-up cycles, ESC condensation prevention and emergency-return-to-home margins extended for cold-air density. Summer Sziget Festival week in August creates a separate operational constraint with mass-event airspace lockouts. Plus the Hungarian Grand Prix at Hungaroring outside Mogyoród triggers FIA TV-broadcast airspace exclusion zones every late July.
